Experiencing a setback today. Kathleen had a night of little sleep. She woke up with a sore neck, which can be a sign of spinal fluid leak, so they are being cautious. Back onto the IV so they can get some steroids in her to control any swelling. They are doing an MRI to get a look at things inside to ensure everything is ok. They drew blood to check her white blood count so they can determine if there is any infection. I'll report back when we know more, but let's just hope this turns out to be a non event. They pushed departure back to Tuesday.

  1. It is best to be cautious and stay were they can diagnose and treat Kathleen the best. Sounds like they know what they are doing and will have things figured out and you all home as soon as possible. Still in our prayers :)

  2. Although it's frustrating to have a plan and the body decide - wait I might just want one more day in the hospital- you will be able to go home with less worry... better to have those bumps in the road while you are still at the hospital with the great medical team right there... still it can be frustrating so letting a few choice word fly from the lips is a given...Sending so many hugs, love and thoughts to all of you...Laura, Tom, Alexandra, Cota, Fred, Mary, Brian, Susan, Connor, Nathan and Emily...

  3. Sorry to hear of the delay. Alex recommends a cheese and ham sandwich as a cure for everything.
Home and family will be waiting for you when they tell you it is OK to come.

  4. Sorry to hear about the setback, but even if it delays release for a day or two, in the grand scheme, it won't matter. Making sure all is well is the most important thing. Many hugs, prayers, and well wishes for you both. What a fabulous team you make!!!!
